The Horses

The Extras

Print Email

As you look around our ranch, you’ll see a few extra horses. Mainly, Cinnamon and Rosie, gifts to me and my daughter from our dear friend, Rudy. Cinnamon is my horse, like no horse has ever been. She comes when I whistle. She wants to be with me refusing to leave the barn till I do, “protecting” me from the other horses. Giving me back my confidence and challenging me to work harder, learn more. So wanting me to be with me that she has nearly walked in the back door.

Rosie is teaching Shaina to ride. She always seems to know that she must take care of her little friend. Her patience and respect for her little companion is what endears her to us and lets us share her with you.

There are occasionally others here boarding for awhile or waiting for their forever home.

Cinnamon

One of our "Extras" is the very personable Cinnamon.  She was gifted to us by a friend who had to disband his herd, but she quickly won a place in our hearts.  She is always in your pocket and wants to be a part of whatever is going on.

Shout
Shout at the Tank

Shout came to us with no name from the kill pen. He was by his mother's side and she had been dubbed Whisper because she was so quiet and shy. In contrast, this little guy was loud and playful.  He quickly became Shout and we fell in love with his sweet personality.

Sunny and Canyon

Sunny and Canyon were our second set of rescues and our first momma and baby pair. As you can see, they were in terrible shape when they came to us. In addition to being severely under weight, Sunny had a nasty abscess on her back. Unfortunately, she was too scared to let us catch her at first. On her second day, we were able to get a halter on her and after a couple of weeks of doctoring and good feed she and Canyon became our first set of pocket ponies.
